In the summer of 2023, The Nature Conservancy asked the Reel Quest crew to shoot still photos and video of their work to save some of North America’s most imperiled trees. These trees are imperiled by invasive pests and diseases, impacting the health of forests, wildlife, climate and culture. Now, researchers are racing to breed trees that are resistant to those threats. We visited researchers and sites in Vermont, New York, and at the University of Connecticut. We edited that footage, and combined it with TNC staff footage shot in Maine and Ohio, to create the six minute video seen here. We also provided them with 15-second and 30-second vertical format teaser versions for social media channels. Writer Eric Aldrich, who organized our trip, has written an article using our photos and video that will live on the Nature Conservancy’s website.
